Frequently asked questions

How this service works and what to ask a pro.

Are you a lead contractor?

No. We are a referral service. We connect you with local lead pros, and we do not do inspections, repairs or testing ourselves.

Are you certified or accredited?

No. We do not hold lead accreditation and we do not claim to. Ask any pro you talk to for their MDE accreditation and verify it with MDE.

What is MDE?

The Maryland Department of the Environment. MDE accredits people and firms for certain lead work and handles Maryland rental lead requirements.

Does sending a request obligate me?

No. You are never required to hire anyone. Any pro you talk to sets their own terms, and we cannot tell you what they will offer.

What happens when I send a request?

With your permission, your request is shared with local lead pros who may contact you by phone, text or email. You choose whether to hire anyone.

How fast will someone call?

We cannot promise a time. Pros set their own schedules.

What areas do you cover?

Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Towson, Dundalk, Catonsville, Essex, Glen Burnie and Columbia.

Do you give legal or medical advice?

No. For legal questions, contact MDE or an attorney. For health questions about lead exposure, talk to your doctor or the health department.

Which homes can have lead paint?

Homes built before 1978 may have it. Check the build year, then check the paint condition.

How do I stop the texts?

Reply STOP to any text message.
